Museums and Heritage

These organisations provide specialist advice, guidance, networks and professional development for museum and heritage educators.

Group for Education in Museums (GEM) is for everyone concerned with the importance of learning through museums and galleries, and represents more than 2,000 learning and access professionals from museums and galleries and other cultural organisations in the UK and worldwide.

The MLA CPD programme provides opportunities to gain further skills, knowledge and experience to enable the cultural sector to deliver quality programmes for children and young people. A range of CPD one-day courses and other activities are on offer to museum and archive educators and professionals from other cultural and children and young people’s settings, to strengthen the role of museums, galleries and archives in the delivery of the children’s agenda.
