The Incorporated Society of Musicans (ISM) is the UK’s professional body for musicians. The ISM champions the importance of music and protect the rights of those working within music through a range of services, campaigns, support and practical advice.
The MMA is the national association for Music Teaching Professionals. It exists to serve its members and support them as they deliver first-class music education that continues traditional values whilst embracing new technologies. Members of the MMA are connected to a network of like-minded professionals who are passionate about music and its potential to enrich the lives of young people.
MusicLeader is a support service dedicated to the professional development of UK music leaders that aims to increase the quality, value and impact of music leadership. MusicLeader is funded by Youth Music, and via regional networks located across the country provides one-to-one support and guidance, training and networking opportunities, and online information and resources.
The National Association of Music Educators (NAME) exists to support its members in the development of music education of the highest quality which is accessible to all. This is achieved by contributing to the creation of a strong and unified voice for music education nationally, providing a forum for professional exchange through local, national and regional events, promoting the professional development of members, and informing members of current developments via publications and newsletters and collaboration with other appropriate organisations.
The National Association of Percussion Teachers (NAPT) exists to promote and encourage the continual improvement and attainment of the highest standards of percussion teaching in Great Britain, and to enable the sharing of ideas and information between those who seek knowledge in the furtherance of percussion teaching and performing.
The Schools Music Association is recognised as a national voice for music in education. They provide an essential network for music teachers, which serves as a vital link between those working with young people and the policy makers at local, regional and national level. They contribute to continuing professional development, have an established regional network, organise national conferences and local workshops, and organise musical events for children and young people.
