The systemic racism and inequality that exists in our education and cultural sectors is a blight on the life chances of ethnically diverse people and children in the UK. The CLA has not worked to effectively challenge or change this and, going forward, we need to do much better and to match actions with our words.
We are reflecting on the actions we need to take to change our operating practices, our lobbying and advocacy work, and our work with partners. We welcome feedback from our membership.
Immediate actions we commit to are to increase the voices of people who experience racism on our website, in our Strategy Group and on our Advisory Panel. Further actions will follow from these.
